WAXING
So you’ve decided its time to ditch the razor?
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A WAX?
Step One: Deep breaths. We’re in this together.
Exfoliate! Remove those dead skin cells, to allow for the wax to grab onto the hairs more easily, which means less pain for you and a smoother experience (get it?).
Stop shaving 2-4 weeks (depending on how quickly your hair grows) before your appointment
Hair should be about ¼ of an inch long
Don’t leave it too long! Waxing can be more painful if the hair is too long.
Avoid tanning 24 hours before your appointment
I’M SILKY SMOOTH, NOW WHAT?
For the next 24 hours you want to avoid anything that will bring a lot of heat to your body. This includes, very hot showers, baths, saunas, excessive sweating etc.
Have a warm shower and clean the waxed area with a mild soap.
48 hours after your appointment you can begin to exfoliate and moisturize to prevent ingrown hairs. (Repeat every couple days.)
Avoid the sun and tanning beds for 24-48 hours. Freshly waxed skin can become sunburnt much more easily – ouch!
