WAXING

So you’ve decided its time to ditch the razor?

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A WAX?

Step One: Deep breaths. We’re in this together.

  • Exfoliate! Remove those dead skin cells, to allow for the wax to grab onto the hairs more easily, which means less pain for you and a smoother experience (get it?).

  • Stop shaving 2-4 weeks (depending on how quickly your hair grows) before your appointment

  • Hair should be about ¼ of an inch long

  • Don’t leave it too long! Waxing can be more painful if the hair is too long.

  • Avoid tanning 24 hours before your appointment

I’M SILKY SMOOTH, NOW WHAT?

  • For the next 24 hours you want to avoid anything that will bring a lot of heat to your body. This includes, very hot showers, baths, saunas, excessive sweating etc.

  • Have a warm shower and clean the waxed area with a mild soap.

  • 48 hours after your appointment you can begin to exfoliate and moisturize to prevent ingrown hairs. (Repeat every couple days.)

  • Avoid the sun and tanning beds for 24-48 hours. Freshly waxed skin can become sunburnt much more easily – ouch!
